Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the 17Digit website, free form tool, and dealer platform (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

17Digit provides software that helps independent auto dealers decode VINs, generate state paperwork, assemble retail packets, collect signatures, and manage related workflows. Features vary by plan.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 18 and authorized to act for your dealership to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration information, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity under your account.

3. Subscriptions, trials & billing

• Paid plans start with a free trial period. After the trial, your subscription begins at the plan price then in effect unless you cancel.
• Subscriptions renew monthly and are billed through our payment processor (Stripe) until cancelled. Add-on modules are billed in addition to your base plan.
• You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future renewals. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.
• We may change prices or plans with reasonable notice; changes apply to the next billing cycle.

4. Your content & responsibilities

You retain ownership of the data you enter (your dealership, vehicle, and customer information). You grant 17Digit a limited license to process that data solely to provide the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you enter and for using the Service in compliance with all applicable laws.

5. Acceptable use

• Do not use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate anyone's rights.
• Only send SMS/marketing to recipients from whom you have obtained proper consent, in compliance with applicable law.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.

6. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (including Stripe, Postmark, Twilio, and the NHTSA vPIC database). Your use of features that depend on them may also be subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for their availability or acts.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and content (excluding your data), is owned by 17Digit and protected by law. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service while your account is in good standing.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated documents are legally sufficient for your purposes.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 17Digit will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold 17Digit harmless from claims arising out of your data, your use of the Service, your documents, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; certain provisions survive.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for disputes is the state or federal courts located in Florida.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
